This week I began using the app YouTube Capture. It honestly took me two minutes to complete the above videos. If you are looking to create videos with your class, YouTube Capture is definitely a great place to start.
Before we went on break, I started a three part lesson, with the third grade class at Olivet Charter School, on photography. We began the lesson by introducing the students to lines, texture and symmetry. Following that lesson we showed the students how to take and edit pictures on the iPads. Then it was time to let them out and explore. They were to take 12 pictures and find things that had lines, texture and symmetry. Some students were lucky enough to capture photos that had all three. I was amazed at how wonderful the photos came out. The last part of the lesson was for the students to edit their pictures and choose three photos to make a collage. Next steps...posting the photos on their blogs. Can't wait to teach this lesson to another class.
